I’m off to eastern Canada for a two-week vacation. I’ve never been, so it should be fun checking out Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. I’m told it’s a great place for seafood, but given that I gag at the very thought of lobster and other things from the sea, I think I’ll be sticking to another of the region’s famous foodstuffs: PEI’s potatoes. Maybe I’ll even check out the Potato Museum. Yes, it really does exist.
Fear not, loyal readers, the blog will go on. I’ve got posts scheduled to run regularly, so keep coming back. It’ll be like I never really left!

Pete — have a donair at Pizza Corner in Halifax; fries at the chip truck in front of the Halifax public library; and if you’re in Cape Breton, I’d highly recommend a stop at the Glenora Distillery in Mabou. It’s the only single malt distillery outside of Scotland. They have little cabins you can rent with hot tubs. Also, nearby in Mabou is a neat little pub called the Red Shoe Pub.
